ABOUT AMELIA

Amelia Hanks is a Work Planning Coordinator for Pinellas County Utilities Facilities Maintenance and a weekend Student Assistant at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg’s Nelson Poynter Memorial Library. She is currently pursuing her Master of Library and Information Science, with expected graduation in Spring 2026.

Amelia’s professional interests include museum archives, special collections, and the stewardship of cultural memory. Her experience in both County operations and academic library support has strengthened her commitment to accessible, well-organized information environments that serve diverse communities.

A cancer survivor, Amelia chose to return to graduate school to actively pursue the work she values most: preserving stories, supporting learning, and contributing to institutions that make knowledge widely available.
